From the same sessions that originally produced I’m No Good At Love Songs and Conversations With My Inner Self, Eyes Alight is another collaboration between the band, regular music producer Mat O’Grady and video producer Dan Broadley. The track was remastered when Andy Thomas joined the band last summer.

A haunting melody and a song that resonates with meaning and empathy both song and video are delivered with the usual depth and confidence by the band.

The video was shot by Dan Broadley. The track was produced and mastered by Mat O’Grady and will be available to download from iTunes shortly.

Yet another great contribution to the growing body of That Sunday Feeling material available to watch on the BryanStars channel.

As promised earlier in the Summer, That Sunday Feeling have announced four select performances in December 2012.

Starting on December 1st, the band will be playing Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham before a final appearance of 2012 at the Camden Barfly, London on 5th December.

Tickets at just £6 are available from the usual outlets.

Over two days they recorded not one but two new videos with final scenes for both being shot today.

It’s always interesting to watch the creative process involved and admire how the band craft their videos with long-term collaborators Dan Broadley and Alex his technician.

The finished product is testament to the lengths everyone goes to achieve the very best in a That Sunday Feeling video, and the very high standards that both the band and Dan and his team set for themselves.

There are literally no boundaries these guys will not push to achieve the desired effect and their joint commitment to the project always shines through.

As in all things, the band demand the utmost creative input from everyone they work with, and Dan and Alex are more than up for the challenge.

Watching everyone at work you sense the intuitive grasp they all have of where they are going with Dan and Alex developing the concepts visually into some impressive artwork.

I didn’t get the opportunity to spend much time with the band when recording the video for Conversations With My Inner Self, but what I saw in terms of location, set and storyboard was more than enough to convince that this was possibly going to be the best video release yet by the band.

I did get the chance to see far more of the creative process in action when shooting a completely different concept for the video to Eyes Alight, which again made me think this is going to be among the best video work yet by the band.

I can’t say anything more about the actual content of the videos at this time, but there were a few things I noticed that deserve special comment.

First was how professional the band were, brimming over as ever with ideas and commitment to the project at the 110% level. The individual character of each band member really adds to the overall mix.

Second was how well Dan and Alex worked all the cast – and I can’t say anything more at this time but it took a wide range of people skills – while developing the thematic content of the videos with the band.

Third – and again I can’t give anything away before the band gives the go-ahead – how impressive Joe’s vocals were in such unusual circumstances when filming the second day.

Of course, you won’t hear those vocals because the video will play to the production track, but from where I was standing they sounded every bit as powerful, in-tune and on-song as they did coming from the recorded version over the monitor.

A great day or two with some great people, it’s always such a joy and privilege working with That Sunday Feeling because of the sheer professionalism, dynamic creativity and infectious good humour they bring to everything they do.

The new five-piece band is stronger than ever before with Andy providing vocals, keyboards and guitar and adding significantly to the band’s prodigious songwriting talents.

Andy will be in the studio later this month to lay down vocals with the band for Eyes Alight, before shooting the video with the rest of the band in September.

Anyone who caught the Summer Tour will know just how strong the band are looking and sounding since Andy came on board, and we wait with anticipation the first of the new material the band has been working on since they were last in the studio back in February.

The band have written stacks of new songs this year – more than enough to fill several albums – and as usual with That Sunday Feeling there is great range and depth to all of their songs.

The addition of Andy brings yet another new dimension and dynamic to That Sunday Feeling and we look forward to all the good things about to unfold for the band in the near future.

The video is scheduled to be shot in September for an October release.

It is yet to be decided whether the track will be released together with Conversations With My Inner Self recorded by Mat O’Grady earlier in the year.
