That Sunday Feeling Summer Tour 2012 A Resounding Success

Well done to the band for putting together another superb show for the current tour, they just get better and better every time we see them play. The new song Conversations With My Inner Self is simply sublime and the new five-piece band look and sound so much better.

What’s that – FIVE PIECE BAND – can that be right?

Indeed it is… That Sunday Feeling are officially now a five piece band with the addition of Andy Thomas on keyboards, guitar and vocals. Andy is an experienced frontman and gifted songwriter in his own right who brings a whole new dimension to the band, and we look forward to hearing the band perform the first of Andy’s songs in the very near future.

Meanwhile, you’ll know if you’ve been watching the set lists that the band have added three new songs to the current set, including the latest release I’m No Good At Love Songs. It’s a strong set, the new material ably showing just how capable the band is at moving forward in new directions. Meanwhile, a rousing rendition of Headstrong confirms just how good the band are at reinterpreting the songs from last year.

So just where are all the latest photos of Andy and the band I hear you say, and the answer is they are coming… soon. For now, you will just have to get yourself along to one of the few remaining shows on the current tour to see and hear the new band in full swing.

Or, of course, you can always catch Andy in the video for the latest release I’m No Good At Love Songs. Which one is Andy? If you don’t already know then you’ll just have to go see the band or wait for the photos to find out.

With just one more appearance so far confirmed for the band this year, it’ll be worth it just to see them perform Headstrong and Conversations With My Inner Self.

I’m No Good At Love Songs

The That Sunday Feeling Summer Tour 2012 brings the band to the O2 ABC Glasgow tonight (1st August), O2 Academy 2 Newcastle on Saturday (4th August) and Sound Control Manchester on Sunday (5th August).

I’m No Good At Love Songs Released on iTunes

I'mNoGoodAtLoveSongsTGP That Sunday Feeling’s third major YouTube video release I’m No Good At Love Songs is today scheduled for global release on TSF’s iTunes channel. The song is the band’s fourth iTunes release and sixth iTunes track, the previous release actually being the five-track EP which contained three previous releases and two new tracks.

The latest release is a significant event for the band because the song definitely has a more commercial, mainstream appeal than the pop-punk-rock material of earlier releases. There is no denying it’s an infectious song with a memorable hook, and the associated YouTube video goes a long way in helping to promote this upbeat, popular feel. For all concerned, it will be interesting to see how sales compare with the earlier releases.

The song is another Mat O’Grady production and the video was shot once again by Dan Broadley Productions. The guys actually worked hard to develop an extended dance routine for the video which insiders tell us would have been a real gas to watch had production overruns not led to the scene being dropped. Hopefully, if the video proves popular and the song sells well we can look forward to seeing some sharp moves and more shots of the band on the next release due out late-Summer or early Autumn.

While the video may be light on band content the song most definitely is not, so make sure you grab a copy and visualise for yourselves those lost moves while listening through your cans. A little imagination should certainly bring a sparkle to the eyes.

500,000 YouTube Hits For That Sunday Feeling

Another milestone has been passed for rock band That Sunday Feeling with an official half a million – yes, that’s half a million! – YouTube hits for their first three major video releases You’re So Vain, Greater Heights and I’m No Good At Love Songs.

Released in October 2010, the Mat O’Grady production You’re So Vain has now received over 300,000 YouTube hits. Meanwhile, Greater Heights, produced by Romesh Dodangoda and released in August 2011, has all-but received 200,000 hits.

The difference, which takes the total official viewing figures well over the 500,000 mark, is the 8,000-plus views for the band’s latest video, I’m No Good At Love Songs, produced by Mat O’Grady and released just two days ago.

Once again, credit has to go to the awesome BryanStars for his unfailing support and promotion on behalf of the band. With that support the band have managed to attain the vast majority of their half a million views in a period of just roughly 18 months.

It’s a great reflection on Sitcom Soldiers and Dan Broadley Productions, the video production companies with whom the band chooses to work. It is also a wonderful reflection on the producers Mat O’Grady and Romesh Dogangoda who continue to believe in and support the band regardless of any industry whim.

But in the final analysis, credit for producing such original music and video content has to go to That Sunday Feeling themselves. For a band with no label, no distribution deal, no public relations or media people, no writers, designers or image consultants – a band forced to rely entirely on their own very limited resources, hard work and fertile imaginations – for a band that manages and creates everything itself half a million views in 18 months is simply an incredible achievment.

Onwards And Upwards… TSF Are GO!

Thanks to everyone who interacted with the band this weekend, you did a brilliant job pushing TSF right up to fifth place on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam festival leaderboard. That’s some twittering…
marcus_maschwitz4090
This week they shoot the video for their third major release, “I’m No Good At Love Songs“. It’s a pop song with great commercial appeal, which is maybe a natural progression from “Greater Heights”. Both song and video are scheduled for release next month.

Then, a week this Friday they play a short run of gigs beginning with the Willow Festival in Peterborough before moving on to Nottingham, Bristol, Newcastle and finally Glasgow as part of the Touring Is For Losers circuit. E-tickets for the tour are available online from our ticketing partner Skiddle.

250,000 Views For You’re So Vain; 125,000 Views For Greater Heights

That Sunday Feeling have now had more than 250,000 official channel hits for the video of You’re So Vain and in excess of 125,000 hits for the video of Greater Heights.

That’s fantastic news for the band, Matty O’Grady and Romesh Dogangoda the producers, and Sitcom Soldiers and Dan Broadley who shot the videos.

In the coming days the band will be recording the video for their latest single, I’m No Good At Love Songs. An upbeat, infectious tune produced once again by Matty O’Grady, the video will be another collaboration with Dan Broadley.

Of course, the videos have both had great exposure on the BryanStars Interviews channel, and the band would personally like to thank Bryan and his subscribers for making both releases such a success.

Red Bull Or Bust It’s A Great Chance For The Band

Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2012

While it may take no account of the number of bands competing at any particular point in time, a quick look at the 822 bands listed on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam site now the competition is closed to new entries would seem to indicate that fewer than 2% of the bands that entered the competition made it through the first round to the Festival Chart and less than 1% will make it through the second round to play on a festival stage.

Of course, seeing as there are just fifteen bands competing for seven festival appearances the odds for That Sunday Feeling improved considerably once they made it through the first round to the Festival Chart and they now have a 46% chance of appearing on a major festival stage before the summer is over which is an absolutely amazing opportunity when you think about it.

Only the band that tops the Festival Chart when the second round closes will automatically be elected to play the festivals while another six bands will be selected by competition judges who will also select one wild card from the remaining first round contestants that did not make it through to the second round to play the festival stages.

The rewards obviously get bigger and better for the small handful of bands that manage to progress beyond this third round of the competition but it will be a tremendous achievment for That Sunday Feeling to make it into the top 1% of all the bands that competed for a podium position and actually appear on a festival stage.

Facebook

The third round is perhaps the most significant round of the competition because it will give That Sunday Feeling the opportunity to show once again just how good they are in front of a major audience. But the band will not rally the levels of support that other bands will rally and will therefore not top the festival chart, they will be one of fourteen bands with a 43% chance of being picked by the judges.

Who can tell what will influence the judges? Is it worth asking for yet more public signs of support from the fans at this stage? We just do not know. A festival appearance will be truly awesome, a major tour and a recording session would be unbelievable, but it all depends on the judges. You, the fans, have done enough.
